Hi, my name is Mike Masters, I am the director of 5 successful small businesses. I had known for quite a while that sooner or later I had to implement an Internet Marketing Strategy as part of my overall marketing campaign, if I wanted my businesses to survive past the millennium. To be totally honest, I was green when it came to Internet marketing. I did however realise the importance of my businesses having an Internet presence, but I was unsure how to go about it and what to do with it once I had one.

I decided to do a little bit of research to find out exactly what the Internet was and how it could help my business increase sales. Well… that little bit of research has taken me over 18 months to complete. I read almost every book I could find but unfortunately most of the books available tended to concentrate on the more technical aspects of web design.

There was very little information available on "Internet Sales Techniques" or "Internet Marketing" which quickly became quite frustrating to say the least. It was a bit like reading a book on car maintenance when what I am really trying to learn is how to drive the car.  With no books available to quench my thirst for this knowledge, I decided it was time for me to do some investigating myself.

I tracked down and interviewed as many successful Internet entrepreneurs as I could find from a variety of different industries around the world.

I had questions that needed to be answered :

• What were each of these Internet marketeers doing that made them stand out of the crowd of millions of other web sites ?

• Why were people flocking to these particular sites to buy products and services when there were millions of other web sites offering similar products and services at the same price or even cheaper ?

• What made each of their web sites so unique ?

It did not take long to see a pattern start to emerge of clever tips and techniques that each and every one of these technological marketeers had used without fail to generate the 1000's qualified visitors to their web sites. I think one of the things that really amazed me the most was how simple - yet powerful these techniques were, and even more amazing they did not cost a single cent to implement.
